The Point Style Properties dialogue is used to specify the settings used to display a point feature.
There are two different ways to define the style :
- Font Symbol,
- Image Symbol,
Name: The style name is set by default. When a layer has a single style, the name of the style is the name of the layer. When a layer has multiple styles, the name of each style is the feature's value used as a category.
Type: Displays point features using a Font Symbol or an Image Symbol.
A font symbol uses a true type font as the source of the style.
Font: Sets the font used to display the point.
- Size: Sets the size of the symbol.
- Colour: Opens the Color Picker dialogue to define the font colour.
Symbol: Sets the specific symbol from the font that will be used to display the point.

- Drop Shadow: Creates a shadow effect for the point. Open the Color Picker dialogue to define the drop shadow colour.
- Halo: Creates a halo effect around the point. Open the Color Picker dialogue to define the halo colour.
An image symbol uses one or more bitmap images as the source of the style.
