Cloud Permit Integration

To allow CloudPermit to leverage CartoVista as a GIS platform, follow the instructions

To learn how to create a base map from the CartoVista Tile Publisher, click here.

Instructions

Set up your data.

At least two layers of data are expected.

Have a base map layer that provides the landmarks and parcel/property.  To create your base map follow this procedure

     1.   This will allow a citizen user to navigate the city landscape from within CloudPermit

a. Have a polygon layer that provides the parcel/property information.

     2.   This layer is queried by CloudPermit when the user clicks on the map in order to initiate a permit request for the targeted parcel.

Setup the API user

CloudPermit leverages the REST API to interface with CartoVista

  1. Follow these instructions to create a user dedicated to the API.
  2. Grant read access to the base map and the parcel layer to this API user.

Provide the identifiers to the CloudPermit team

In order to integrate they need:

  1. The API user API key public key
  2. Base map layer unique identifier
  3. Parcel layer unique identifier

If needed refer to how to find my layer unique id

Once this is accomplished the CloudPermit team will be able to complete their integration
